Good morning, Sydney! Crowded and busy city, that’s something else than Byron, not? Arrived yesterday morning at the central station where the railway hostel I’m staying also happens to be.
Had a bit of luck that I could get into my room straight away at 8 am and it was much needed, I can tell you. It was a tiring busdrive from Byron and I couldn’t get any rest. Once in the cosy carriage I fell asleep.
That’s right, this super cool hostel where my friend Rima works has carriages for dorms!
This is our view from the window. We look right at the trains and platforms of Central Station!
Later on the day I made friends with my Taiwanese roomie and we hang out for the rest of the day.
I’ve also met two Dutch girls who have been working in the out back for 5 months and me? I have seen nothing! The size of spiders and number of snakes they’ve seen D:
All I can say is: respect, you girls, respect. I’ve absolutely had a safe trip without maggots on the floor of my hostel. You brave girls, whoa.
Around dinner time I finally had seen Rima! This girl is gonna make me fat during my stay here (‘: Cookies, tea, bbq, you name it, some hostess she is <3 she gets you love the whole hostel crew.
I'm obviously gonna repay her with the most addictive treats from back home. Prepare for you will get fat too!
After my meal Lang Dee and I went out to stroll around the city and get a bit acquainted with our surroundings. We walked to Darling Harbour which was beautiful to see at night.
We noticed all the tourist attractions were really close to each other and I now know where to find them.
When there I realized that I really love the differences and contrasts in the city.
Old feel vs. Modern feel.
Chinatown vs. The nearby harbour
I’m SO putting some money aside to eat there this week <3
I also love there’s a lot of art to be seen in the city and today I’m hoping to visit the art museum here.
Besides looking around we couldn’t help, but to play on the Darling Harbour playground!
All that sleeping during daytime gave us a lot of energy for the night!
Hi, interesting post and lovely photos. Looks like you really enjoyed exploring the city. Currently in Sydney as part of our little JWalking trip (https://jwalkingin.wordpress.com/) and like you loving it.
Oh, how cool! I’ll look into that (: thanks
Thanks. Hope you like the blog, it’s tough to know if we’re doing okay but fingers crossed ……
