How to make homemade peanut butter: Peanuts!

At this very moment I’m at a point in my life I don’t need too much hassle, but do need to put effort in taking care of my own person. Healthy food is one of those things.

It’s been ages since I’ve posted a recipe or even thought about recipes that might be more thoughtfull when it comes to daily intake. Neglect comes in many forms, and so is not eating the right food. We all know we’re supposed to, but sometimes when life takes over we choose to leave things for what they are.

Now that I’d like to get back on it, but don’t wanto put to much energy in time consuming recipes, homemade peanut butter is just the perfect thing! Especially for a day like today: Sunday! Just taking it easy.

Peanuts are one of those things I didn’t really like, but just like tomatoes, learned to eat. They always say a hand full of nuts is healthy, because nuts contain fibers, omega-3, vitamin E and unsaturated fats. When you make peanut butter at home without any additives they probably put the butters you buy at the supermarkets it should be a healthy one!

Normally there’s always a jar of peanut butter in the cabinet, but apparently not when you’re really in the mood for it! The snack monster in this house could not be more disappointed there wasn’t any peanut butter to spread on his white slice of bread :’)

I still had a box of peanuts that hadn’t been touched and luckily besides a bit of oil that is just all you need!

Homemade Peanut Butter recipe

200-250 grams of peanuts (roasted or unroasted)
3 table spoons of oil (I used a bit of sunflower, a nut oil is probably best)
Agave syrup (optional)
Salt

Put the peanuts in a blender and blend until it’s as finely ground as possible. Then put in salt and agave syrup (or honey, dates, something else.. your choise!) and 3 table spoons of oil to smoothen it to a real butter. All set!

Now what could be more easy? You can vary endlessly! Maybe some chunks of dark chocolate, a different kind of sweetner or add almonds or walnuts!

PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!
